The 11 th Annual INDIAN WELLS ARTS FESTIVAL – WHERE ART IS A HAPPENING! is scheduled for April 5, 6 & 7, 2013, at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden - Home of the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament. More than 200 award winning artists will transform the magnificent path-lined plaza into a spectacular festival experience. Indian Wells is conveniently located in the heart of the Southern California -- Palm Springs/Desert Resort communities.

The creative synergy of demonstrating artists, local sponsors, exhibitors and non-profit partners enhances our venue with vibrant activity. More than 9,000 attended last year’s Festival, from local residents, families and tourists to serious buyers and collectors. With a celebrated reputation for its quality and wide variety of fine art and quality craft, artists travel from throughout the country to participate.
They are on hand to explain and demonstrate the techniques that created hundreds of pieces of one-of-a-kind artwork available for purchase. Offerings include painting, drawing, ceramics, glass, photography, sculpture, jewelry, apparel and hand-crafted wares.
You don’t need to be an art aficionado to enjoy the Indian Wells Arts Festival. Everyone loves to watch the on-site demonstrations including glass blowing, painting, weaving, large scale stone sculpturing, larger-than-life mural painting, sand sculpture, weaving and pottery throwing.
An enjoyable and fun relaxing day can be found strolling and exploring the Festival. A Gourmet Market Place offers gourmet specialties, while sidewalk chalk drawing, children’s activities, wine tasting, live musical entertainment and refreshment are ongoing throughout the day.
By popular demand, “Sunday Eggs in the Garden” brunch menu is available until noon.

Painted and embellished “Recycle Bicycles,” presented by S.C.R.A.P. Gallery and sponsored by Palm Springs Life magazine launches Earth Month Coachella Valley.
Watch the progress of Linda Shrader as she paints her 10’ x 32’ “Larger than Life Mural” sponsored by Lamar Advertising.
“From Sea to Sand,” brings mermaids to the desert in the form of sand sculptures by Lila Fulton and Jeff Sherman and sponsored by Jensen’s Finest Foods.
“Zeitgeist –Spirit of the Age” features spray-paint ‘graffiti’ work by street artist Aaron Hansen.
The Indian Wells Arts Festival has been ranked one of the “100 Best Fine Art Shows in the country” by Sunshine Artist magazine, and “Best of the Best” by Palm Springs Life magazine.
The Festival incorporates a number of local charities as partners in the Festival and donates to their art scholarship funds. Participating organizations include Old Town Artisan Studio, Discovery Arts and Student Creative Recycle Art Program (SCRAP) Gallery and Washington Charter School.
The Indian Wells Arts Festival takes place April 5 -7 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm (gates close at 4:30).
